South Pacific

South Pacific is a broadway musical that started it production in 1949 and composed by Richard Rodgers. This broadway play is known for its strong message towards racism, which is still an issue seen today. One of the songs in the musical called, "You've got to be Carefully taught", is important because racial prejudice is carefully explored in this song. South Pacific is a known as a classic because of its confrontation to racism. It's sad to say because prejudice is still present today. I believe everyone is born equal, and no one can choose where they and born and raised. Everyone is made differently and born an individual, and some people lack this understanding. Thats why this musical is so important because it addresses the problem, which people need to understand the past to grow to a new future.
